Today we removed the coils from the lathe. Hard work : they weight 50Kg.

23/11/05

The coils are finished : we have just cover the last layer with glue.

22/11/05

We played we the big viewports, before covering them up...

21/11/05

We have some new curtains in the lab. We also now have the big power supply in its rack (it weights 120 Kg). All we need is 380V !

17/11/05

JF and I are make progress on the coils. We ran out of glue so we will have to wait for the Farnell delivery. It is a exausting job.

16/11/05

Today we added in the third part of the former on the coil we are working on.

15/11/05

JF and I coiled the first layer of the coils today. We had to adjust the size of the former on the lathe and therefor had to drill an off axis hole.

14/11/05

We have finaly begun the coiling of our big feschbach resonnance coils. It is going to take us a while, as they are huge.

14/10/05

Today we started backing the vacuum system.

07/10/05

Today we have tried putting in the plate that holds the 2D MOT optics. It fits in !!

06/10/05

We have changed the rigging of the vacuum system to a more sturdy one. We have also used chains rather than straps near the vacuum chamber, to be able to bake.

22/09/05

This week has been an exiting week : we have finally built the vacuum system that we have been designing for the last 4 month.
