Long time no blog ! We have been busy here ! And I have been working in Toronto to. I had 2 small sets of coils to wind. It was a fun and easy task compared to the big ones we did last year. Here is the first one, the other one is still drying on the lathe.

Yes !! The Big scray laser blew up a beamsplitting cube and the stray refelection created by the broken cube vaporized a waveplate. Nice !

Today we mount the first set of coils and finished the air flow for the experiment.

The mounts for the coils have arrived. They look nice. We are definitely going to have to weight everything before putting it on the experiment.

The big coils have arrived !! They are gorgeous. On a side not we know have air and water pressure. Useful.

We have started turning on our "Big scary laser". 50W !!! Jeff is building an "optical tap" to control the power.

Today we have seen our first 3D MOT, atoms are transfering between the two chambers ! Hurray !! Sorry, no pictures of this historical moment, but pictures what went just after.
